If you’ve recently acquired your Authorize.Net account there are a few settings that need to be adjusted for a smoother experience with Enlite. Please note that this configuration is our recommendation only. We’ll review below what may happen if a setting is not configured as we show it.

Disabling Advanced Fraud Detection Suite (AFDS)

The Authorize.Net Advanced Fraud Detection Suite (AFDS) provides several tools to prevent suspicious transactions. However, some of these filters may interfere with Enlite’s functionality. A common example is the velocity filter which prevents many transactions from occurring in a short amount of time. In Enlite, if you have many billing customers set up and charge their credit cards at once, a transaction for each customer will be processed rapidly. This is the desired behavior, however, it may get flagged by AFDS and interfere with charging your customers. Below are our recommended Settings.

  1. Enter AFDS from your login page. By clicking on AFDS under Products & Services, or selectin the Fraud Detection Suite from the navigation bar on the left side.

  2. In AFDS, the following filters should be disabled:
    - Daily Velocity Filter
    - Hourly Velocity Filter
    - Suspicious Transaction Filter
    Transaction IP Velocity Filter

This can be done by clicking on a filter, in this example, we’ll use the Daily Velocity Filter.

  3. Inside the filter, simply uncheck the Enable Filter checkbox. This will disable the filter. Once the checkbox is unchecked, click the Save button at the bottom to commit the changes. This can be done for each of the filters listed above.

If you do not wish to disable AFDS, we recommend setting the Filter Actions to either Process as normal and report filter(s) triggered. OR Decline the transaction.

This will provide Enlite with a clear response as to whether the transaction was accepted or declined so the system can apply the response to the invoices accordingly.

If you use Authorize and hold for review. OR Do not authorize, but hold for review. Enlite may receive an error response at the time the charge is processed and will not apply any payments to the invoices. Both settings hold the transaction to be reviewed by you at a later time from the Authorize.Net portal. If you approve them, or in some cases, after a certain period of time they are automatically approved, Enlite will not be notified that the transaction has gone through. This means that your customer will be charged, but the invoices will not be marked as paid in Enlite. If you choose to keep either of these settings, you must go back into Enlite and mark the invoices related to that charge as paid. As mentioned above, the simplest solution is to just disable these filters.

Configuring the Enhanced Address Verification Handling Filter

The settings in this section will affect how precise the address information needs to be when storing a credit card in Enlite. You can reach AVS by clicking on Enhanced AVS Handling Filter.

You can customize this to the level of precision you wish to run in your store. However, please note that if the data entered when storing a credit card does not meet the filter requirements, it will not be stored. Once you have disabled the filter, don’t forget to click on the Save button at the bottom of the page.
